Tuesday 8th August 2023 – I have received the following road closure notifications:

Temporary Road Closure: Williton To Bridgwater Road, East Quantoxhead
Reference: SWT05/0523 -SD007522 -A39

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Williton To Bridgwater Road, East Quantoxhead for approximately 437 metres, which will commence on 8th August 2023 and is expected to last until 9th August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91385-02.

Temporary Road ClosureMain Road and Williton To Bridgwater Road, Kilve and East Quantoxhead
Reference: SWT03/0523 – SD007520 – A39

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Main Road and Williton To Bridgwater Road, Kilve and East Quantoxhead for approximately 1294 metres, which will commence on 8th August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91375-02.

The works will be for ONE DAY within the stated period and the road will be reopened when no works are taking place.

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Williton To Bridgwater Road, St Audries To Doniford, West Quantoxhead and Williton for approximately 744 metres, which will commence on 9th August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91425-02.

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Williton To Bridgwater Road, Holford for approximately 625 metres, which will commence on 8th August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91415-5-02.

Reference: SWT01/0523 – SD007518 – A39 Main Road

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Main Road, Kilve for approximately 628 metres, which will commence on 8th August 2023 and is expected to last until 8th August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91355-02.

Temporary Road Closure: Putsham Hill, Williton To Bridgwater Road, Kilve 
Reference: SWT02/0523 – SD007519 – A39 Putsham Hill

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Putsham Hill, Williton To Bridgwater Road, Kilve for approximately 602 metres, which will commence on 8th August 2023 and is expected to last until 21st August 2023 (between 07:30 to 18.00hrs).   These works are for Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works, their works reference is LG210YFSD91365-01.

 

Position as at Sunday afternoon, 6th August 2023.
I have been out and looked at the signage.  So this is just a visual report.
Nether Stowey to Cannington is now 1 day only.
Thursday 10th August 9 am to 3.30pm. Seems to be just a short bit of road by the bio digester place (where the wall keeps getting driven into and they have put up a fake speed camera). So you should be able to divert via Stogursey or Spaxton.
Holford to Williton – this is now 2 days
Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th August from 9 am to 3.30pm. It starts by the layby (triangle at Holford) and continues to just before (Kilve side) the big layby on the bend (before the Deer Park).
I have the temporary road closure notice for Nether Stowey to Cannington which says 3 days.  I have not received a notification for the Holford to Williton Closure and it is not on the Map.  I have emailed the Temporary Road Closure Team and spoken to our County Councillor – who was not aware of it either, apart from having seen the signs.
I will make a formal complaint once we know the final situation.
